Good morning, everyone! Welcome back to another installment of Wednesday Wink – JewishLatinPrincess’ series on Hashgacha Pratit (Divine Providence). Today, I’m delighted to feature a story told by Esther from Los Fabulosos 30+. You will love this Hasgacha Pratit story. Seems like such a coincidence, yet there is obviously much more… A beautiful reminder to all of us to be open to the Winks that we get from Above. Often hard to see them, but if we train our eyes, we easily begin to see, that  G-d is in fact sending us Winks very often. Welcome Esther, from Costa Rica….

¡Hola amigas!

———-

This morning, I woke up early, with more energy than usual. I went out for my daily exercise walk and decided to add an extra kilometer, and to take an uphill route, so I could exercise my heart a bit more.

I was already on my way back home, after having enjoyed the fresh air and the beautiful mountains, when I noticed a young woman walking on the opposite side of the street. She caught my attention because she was holding a little baby of about two years old, asleep in her arms.

I could tell how much effort it took for the young woman to comfortably hold her little girl. I couldn’t help myself, and I stopped to stare at her.

I decided to cross the street and follow the young woman. Yes, crazy! Why?
Decidí cruzar la acera y seguir a la chica. ¡Sí, como una loca! ¿Porqué?

I have a small umbrella stroller. It’s been sitting in my garage, unused, for years. One of the few objects that I have still around of my kids’ early childhood. I still have it, as it has been hard for me to let go of something that bring back so many memories.

When we bought that stroller, eight years ago, we weren’t doing very well financially. Despite that, I carefully did my homework, and this stroller was the best within what we could afford at the time. The little umbrella stroller went with us to the beach, on trips, and was a faithful partner to my kids’ afternoon naps.

The young woman stopped at the entrance of a residential complex – The same complex where my husband’s paternal grandmother lives! Trying not to scare her, I went up to her and asked her gently, if she works inside this residential complex. She said, “Yes.” Then, I asked her in which house does she work. She seemed a little confused and replied, with the child still asleep in her arms, that she works in Doña Angela’s house.

Doña Angela is my husband’s grandmother! I told her my relationship to Doña Angela. Then, I told her that I have a stroller. She looked at me even more confused. I asked her, “Do you have a stroller for your baby?” She said, “No.” I told her about my little stroller, in perfect condition, sitting in my garage. I told her that I don’t need it anymore and that if she would like, I would stop by later today to bring it to her. With a big smile she told me, “Yes.” I said good bye and I left with a happy heart.

Life is full of  “coincidences” all intertwined, sort of like in a chain…

Just yesterday I had opened my garage and seen the stroller. I thought to myself, “It’s probably time to get rid of it, Esther.” Today I “bumped” into a person, who obviously needs it, and works taking care of my children’s beloved great grandmother! It all fit like a perfect puzzle – one sent from Heaven.

Life is so beautiful. We just have to focus! Life gives us so many opportunities to feel useful and blessed, all the time! We are sent these little messages from Above so that we wake up from our comfortable slumber, burst our bubble, focus on what is important, appreciate it and have gratitude – instead of taking so much for granted!

I will soon go to bring the stroller to the young lady, along with a few toys and clothes, which my daughter outgrew a long time ago. Yes, today’s deed might not change the word, but it will lessen the burden of one young woman as she leaves her work today at five o’clock. Today, our little umbrella stroller, that served us well all those years, goes on to be part of somebody else’s story and that makes me immensely happy.

Have a lovely day!
¡Buenos días!

Can you believe!? If that’s not Hashgacha Pratit, I don’t know what is! I love it! Share it with your friends, my loves. We will all live a more tranquil, as well as richer life, when we open our eyes to the beautiful messages that G-d is sending us constantly. Have a great day!

¡Me fascino!

xoxo

I loved being part of your podcast, I had no idea what to expect and it was refreshing as a Jewish woman to participate in your podcast. Your questions related to what I do, combined with Judaism gave me a lot to think about. I love getting new questions instead of the typical “why did you start the project?” which is important but I’m glad you gave it a twist. I hope your listeners enjoy the interview as much as I enjoyed being part of it! Thanks for challenging me to think about my topic and religion as one.

In preparation for my wedding, I had the opportunity to learn with Yael. Creativity aside, she is a wealth of knowledge, both passionate and practical, about what she teaches and how she teaches it. I'm also proud to say that through our experience together she has become a great friend and is someone that I can I always talk to.

Yael can be defined as “refreshing inspiration.” She is well-versed in an array of topics from Jewish femininity to design details. Every time I hear her at a speaking engagement or in passing conversation, she always brings an awareness of Jewish femininity to the forefront, constantly reminding women of their spiritual role and importance in ‘everyday’ things. I was thrilled that she passed this concept on, along with her deep knowledge of Judaism, to my daughter during their Bat Mitzvah lessons together. Yael always rises to the occasion (no pun intended) with her eye for design and attention to details. Her subtle palette, creativity and organizational skills are her recipe to success!

My daughter Stav had her Bat Mitzvah a few months ago.  I wanted Stav to go into her 'Bat Mitzvah' understanding the meaning of the term, and with the knowledge of how to apply it to her life. Even though she learns in a Jewish Orthodox school, I felt that she needed extra learning and inspiration for her coming of age.  Luckily, I knew Yael from before, and heard that she teaches Bat Mitzvah classes.  I had a feeling that this would be a good match... I wasn't wrong :)

Yael teaches ancient ideas in a modern way.  Stav came back from classes inspired, thinking and asking herself questions.  I'm thankful that my daughter had the opportunity to learn with Yael for her Bat Mitzvah in a interesting, welcoming and inspiring way.

Yael has creativity, vision, and energy, and she uses them all to the fullest for her clients. She came up with the color scheme, all the accessories, the overall “look” of the day, and I just happily and gratefully followed along. But I don’t want you to think it’s only what Yael wants, Yael does. She asked me for input every step of the way. She always checked in with me about what she was buying, what she thought we should have at the party, and she was always conscious of budget. I wanted everything she suggested, but I know that if there had been anything I wasn’t keen to have, she would have changed it until she found something that I loved. She wanted my daughter and me to be happy with everything. We weren’t happy – that’s too meager a word – we were elated!!! Working with Yael was such a pleasant and joyful experience. And those are two words I don’t use lightly when it comes to describing planning an event.

Yael helped me style my son's upshernish as well as my living room. She is wonderful to work with! She is talented and extremely organized which is super helpful! She has an incredible eye and knows how to beautify absolutely anything!
