B”H
Fine, the Jewish New Year is long gone, and the Gregorian new year doesn’t mean much to me other than, “Pesach is in four months!” Oh and “why in the world can’t I find a new plan book for 2016 that I like!?” (Slightly neurotic!? Yeah, totally!) Still, I thought it would be fun to take a look at the top posts of 2015 according to number of views and the amount of traffic these posts got. Some of these also fall under my favorites, but I have a few others that are dear to my heart, so head down below to see my picks. Plus, as I was going down memory lane, I realized that there were some “big” moments here at JLP this year, which I’m also proudly sharing.
1. You loved my DIY Marble Counters and so did I! I’m getting ready to show you more of these type of posts next year. I still love this transformation in my Dining Room and am so happy I did it.
2. Dainty Jewell’s Apparel & Giveaway – Apparently you all like a good giveaway :-) Some more to come, my friends.
3. JLP Profile: Meet Patty – I’m with you on this one. This was one of my favorites and I feel so blessed to have been able to work with Patty on this and for her friendship.
4- Schlissel (Key) Challah I was surprised with how much traffic this post got. By the way, schlissel challah aside, the flax seed challah recipe in this post is beyond… if you haven’t tired it, you must.
5- Giveaway: Kosher Kurls – I loved this post and I still love this product very much and I’m happy that I was able to introduce it to many of you.
Now, here are a few other 2015 posts that I love and am proud of.
Mendel’s Mitzvah Marathon was not an easy post to write. The many hours I thought about how to convey this message, drafting, deleting, and re-writing, were well worth it, though.
Mi casa es Su casa: Rita
Mi casa es Su casa is my favorite series here in JLP and I loved this introduction to the series. Rita is such a delightful person to work with.
I enjoyed this one very much as well. Working on it together and developing a friendship made it even better for me! I’m working very hard on bringing you more of the Mi casa es Su casa posts this year. Both of last year’s were, by the way, in the top ten posts of the year. You liked this series. I liked this series. More to come, my friends!
I love Wednesday Winks, and it’s hard to pick a favorite. But, I think this one stands out as my favorite Wednesday Wink of the year.
Increasing in Joy just makes me :-)
I also have to add that there were some pretty big moments for Jewish Latin Princess in 2015:
My trip to Guatemala to Speak for Chabad of Guatemala’s Ladies Shabbaton came as a result of this blog, Jewish Latin Princess. I loved every minute of preparing for it and being there with amazing women.
Although I originally published Tantrum with G-d here in 2014, it was then selected and published by TheJewishWoman.org this year. That was pretty awesome!
Finally, seeing my son’s Upshernish (and here) published by a selective, non-Jewish publication was a Kiddush H.” I feel proud that an event that was so unequivocally Jewish would be selected and recognized by Grey Likes Baby. See it here.
But, ultimately, I have to say that those “achievements” pale in comparison to the satisfaction I have when I receive calls, texts, and emails in which you share how a post has impacted you in a positive way; how you have taken action towards growth in an area of Jewish life due to something you saw and read here; how you love coming here and seeing a positive side of Jewish life that inspires you… This is why I am here and this is why I will continue to be here. THANK YOU!
Any posts that were memorable to you and didn’t make it to this list? Anything you want to see more of, less of, in the coming year? Thank you for being part of this adventure. Looking forward to more.
Yael
