About two months ago, my friend and makeup artist, Rivki, booked me to help her style her booth at a JCC Women in Business Fair. Having worked with her before and being that she’s client pretty much perfect, I gave her a quick resounding yes and got to work.
I remembered this post from Candice at Lots of Lovely. I wanted to re-create Candice’s bar cart concept, as it would add the welcoming, warm feeling, which Rivki wanted her booth to have, and would be a unique way to showcase the beautiful photography of her makeup work. I used flowers throughout to incorporate the lavender purple from her logo.

Based on her business name, Rivki Makeup Artistry, I immediately knew that I wanted an easel with a mirror, as well as little easels to display her business cards and/or pictures of her work. Having the mirror on the easel and her makeup chair would also allow Rivki to do some makeup application on ladies visiting the booth. Thus, I knew we would need better lighting. A clip-on industrial light from Home Depot provided her with additional light and helped create a makeup studio feel.
In order to make sure her booth was well branded we hung a custom made sign with her beautiful logo. We also used Avery labels with her logo on acrylic brush holders.
I used white tablecloths for practical reasons, so in order to have a good visual balance with the silver panels, I added some silver glittery tulle over the white tablecloths.

I’m pretty thrilled with how all the little details came together to create an inviting, yet striking booth, that would stand out- exactly what Rivki wanted!
Check out Rivki’s blog for more pictures of the booth and the event. I think I put most of the sources, but if you have any specific questions, feel free to leave them in the comments section and I’ll surely respond. Also, let me know if you’d like to see/learn more of the behind the scenes (not so glamorous aspect of styling).
I had great fun styling and then seeing traffic come through and engaged at Rivki’s booth that day.
In other exciting news, Chabad.org featured one of my blog posts this week! You can read it here. :-) :-) :-)
Have a lovely day!
