March 22, 2015 by Yael Leave a Comment

B”H

Shavua Tov my friends! The month of Nissan has arrived! Did you know that the month of Nissan always falls in the Spring season (in the Land of Israel) because the Jewish calendar is adjusted in a super cool mathematical way, so that it should be that way? (More on calendar in my post here.) So, even if some of us are not feeling the Spring weather, apparently Spring is here ;-).

¡Shavua Tov, amigas!

Now, rumor has it that some of you might be going out of town, either to visit family, or to attend a wonderful Pesach hotel program. So, I’ve put together for you an entire Spring holiday wardrobe that can be mixed and matched because there’s an art to packing lightly, while not compromising on style.

My inspiration came a few months ago when the Spring Boden catalogue arrived. I loved their new floral print both in the grey/lavender and ivory colors, and I have to share it with you. A good floral print is oh so good, but hard to find.

1|| Citron sweater: I love the lace, almost pom pom looking detail on this light sweater and the punchy color.

2|| Floral Top: This is the floral that inspired it all. I love it. I’m maxed out on my budget right now, but someone should buy this. I’m telling you, a good floral print is hard to find! Now, I don’t get why the Boden site shows the skirt to be more lavender than the top? It’s described as the same pattern, so  I’m not sure.

Me encanta. 3|| Floral Skirt: You know it.

3|| Falda floreada: Ya saben.4|| JCrew Cotton Pencil Skirt: We’ve discussed this skirt before. Get it. A few of you already thanked me ;-).

4|| Falda de JCrew: La hemos discutido antes. Comprénsela. Ya varias me dieron las gracias. ;-)5|| These heels! So feminine and classy. If you can’t pull off the citron, they come in a nude color that is just as amazing.

5|| ¡Estos tacos! Tan femeninos y elegantes. 6 and 7|| You want to pack at least one statement necklace for the holiday. These two will mix and match with all these pieces of clothing.

8|| Ivory Floral Skirt: I must get this skirt in the ivory at some point. So elegant and classic. And yes, it will be hard to find another floral like this. I love that both Boden and JCrew offer Long length option for those of us who like the knees to be covered.

9|| Light Pink Sweater: everyone needs a bit of pink in their wardrobe and this is so versatile. These sweaters are so light and good quality. I love them.

Me encanta. So let me tell you how many yom tov (holiday) outfits you’ve packed with just these nine items:

Outfit Number 2: 2 and 4

Outfit Number 3: 2 and 3

Outfit Number 4: 9 and 3

Outfit Number 5: 9 and 8

Outfit Number 6: 9 and 4

Outfit Number 7: 1 and 8

Outfit Number 8: 1 and 9

Eight outfits, for eight holiday meals my dears! No need to thank me! Throw in an ivory blouse and go calculate more permutations because… well there’s also Chol Hamoed (Intermediate days). Don’t forget to switch the necklaces when you do the math ;-). Oh and if you need to add a pair of flats- which you do- my post here has at least one option that will will work with this wardrobe.

Happy packing and Happy traveling!

¡Que lo pasen lindo!

I loved being part of your podcast, I had no idea what to expect and it was refreshing as a Jewish woman to participate in your podcast. Your questions related to what I do, combined with Judaism gave me a lot to think about. I love getting new questions instead of the typical “why did you start the project?” which is important but I’m glad you gave it a twist. I hope your listeners enjoy the interview as much as I enjoyed being part of it! Thanks for challenging me to think about my topic and religion as one.
