B”H I just heard this mashal (parable) at the Shabbat table that shook me to the core, as it was way too real. I think I might not be the only one who can relate to this mashal… Justo escuché este mashal (parábola) en la mesa de Shabbat que me dejó fría. Creo que no soy la única que se podrá identificar con esta parábola… There was once a man, whose office was on
B”H Hello everyone! Last week was back to school week around here. My kids went back to school, and I started teaching again! We all had a great few days and I’m looking forward to a great school year. ¡Hola a todas! La semana pasada comenzamos las clases por estos lados. Mis chicos regresaron a la escuela y yo comencé a enseñar de nuevo. Tanto ellos como yo tuvimos buenos días de regreso a la
B”H As we all now realize the High Holidays are approaching. Thus, I wanted to share with you one of my most coveted recipes and one that I usually serve during these super hot summer Shabbatot (105 degrees last Shabbat!!!) and during Sukkot lunch (as Sukkkot time is usually still quite hot in Houston!). This Cold Meat recipe will be a beautiful and delicious addition to any Shabbat or Yom Tov lunch
B”H Good morning and Shavua Tov! You might have seen on Facebook that last week I was over at Chai & Home along with four other Jewish lifestyle bloggers. We each shared our best tip on “High Holiday success,” (defined to us, the interviewees, as experiencing the Holidays with style and joy). Thank you Dena for inviting me to participate and for getting me to think about this. If you haven’t
B”H If you’re here from Little Green Notebook, welcome, and I hope you stay for a while. It’s a lot of fun here ;-). If you missed my announcement on Facebook, Little Green Notebook mentioned my DIY Faux Marble tutorial as her inspiration for her own faux marble top creation. Thank You, Jenny! And if you missed that post, you can find it here. Revisiting that DIY post, reminded me of

Thank you to reader and friend Diani for sharing her family’s beautiful story with us.
B”H I got such nice feedback last time I posted an “unedited” design blog post. Some of you said, “it’s like hearing my brain talk” and “it’s the raw, unedited you”. Well yes, it is! And truthfully, just like working on ourselves is a process (and we talk plenty about this here), so is designing a home. Getting hung up on achieving perfection is a futile and somewhat self-defeating exercise.

B”H Shavua Tov, everyone! Did you realize that we’ll be celebrating the New Year in just three months!? You might remember my calendar rant dilema from this post. I am still faithful to my calendar/agenda that I worked so hard to “customize” then. I have it with me all the time. But that might change very soon… ¡Shavua Tov, amigas! ¿¡Ya se dieron cuenta de que en sólo tres meses vamos
B”H Chodesh Tov, beautiful ladies! Today is the first day of the month of Av– the month in which our precious Beit Hamikdash (Temple) was destroyed. Although we have been in a state of mourning since the 17 of Tamuz, we intensify the mourning starting today, until the 9th of Av– the day when the Temple’s destruction and many other tragedies occurred to the Jewish people. ¡Chodesh Tov, lindas chicas!
