Passover Centerpiece

Passover Table Decor with the Ten Plagues

B”H

I’m all about done so I want to show you quickly the Passover Centerpiece on our table. Everyone has showered and we are pretending to rest. Hopefully naps will happen very soon. It will be a long night tonight and a most important part of tonight is to engage the children. That’s why we do all those different things during the Seder. The entire Seder is framed around this concept of engaging and answering to the children, so as to teach them the story of our nation’s Exodus from Egypt (and it’s significance in our lives today!). My kids and I came up with this fun Passover Centerpiece that includes all the 10 Plagues!

In the spirit of engaging the children and getting them excited about the Seder, the kids and I created this fun Passover centerpiece. We have this huge lazy susan on our dining room table so we created the 10 Plagues that can be seen as we spin the lazy susan. You can recreate the same thing on a long table. We used whatever vases we had and filled them up with “plagues”.

We hunted our local dollar store, Amazon, and Michael’s for supplies. But, really overall, their creativity in doing this was the best part. They took much pride in it!

They re-created hail, with clear pebbles from the dollar store, colored on one side with orange sharpie (one side is ice and one side is fire!).

The kids colored these upset Egyptians full of blisters.

Darkness… our all time favorite… a vase painted black on the inside and goggly eyes stuck to it! Love it!

We hope tonight and tomorrow will be a fun night for our kids and our guests. Wishing you all a most kosher and happy Passover! Do you decorate your table in a fun way for the children? Any cool Passover Centerpieces or Passover Table Decor I need to know about?

I loved being part of your podcast, I had no idea what to expect and it was refreshing as a Jewish woman to participate in your podcast. Your questions related to what I do, combined with Judaism gave me a lot to think about. I love getting new questions instead of the typical “why did you start the project?” which is important but I’m glad you gave it a twist. I hope your listeners enjoy the interview as much as I enjoyed being part of it! Thanks for challenging me to think about my topic and religion as one.
