B”H
Last week I walked into Hobby Lobby to get trim for some roman shades for my girls’ room, and I was shocked by what I found. Honestly, I stop at Hobby Lobby for simple gross grain trim, fabric to make a kick pleat on a skirt, and arts and crafts materials. That’s about it. In general, there’s not much in there when it comes to stylish home goods. Or so I thought… (and btw, no this is not a sponsored post, although it very well could be!)
First of all, this pair of furry chairs almost came home with me. They were surprisingly comfortable too!
The legs are SCREAMING for a paint and gold dip like my friend Albertina did here. But, for less than $70 each, they add the touch of unexpected that every room needs. These are Albertina’s furry stools. Don’t they look great?
Let me show you some more images of furry chairs, so the naysayers out there can have some visual context.
But, wait is it possible that the furry situation got even better!? These benches are no joke my friends. Piled under a bunch of not so interesting and blah things, I found these!
And then, I kid you not, they had this acrylic round side table! For whatever crazy reason, I didn’t take a picture of the table, but it’s exactly this one. (Oh, because I thought for sure I’m taking it, so who needs a picture right?). I know. I examined it quite closely. I’m still debating going back there for one of them before they are gone.
Let’s put all these lucite, furry things into context…
These mini replicas of the mid-century classic Charles Eames chairs had me at hello! Great for a kids play room. Ok fine, for my kids’ playroom… with their chalk table? Yes, please! $29 each not bad, my friends, not bad.
The original is so so good…
And this copy of the famous Acapulco Chair! Less than $70, seriously!?
This chair is so versatile, works indoors or outdoors. Let me show you some inspiration…
So after my furniture stroll, I walked by the hardware section. Now, we all know that Hobby Lobby is in fact, a pretty good source for inexpensive hardware. However, they have definitely taken their selection to the next level. Look at what I found! Stunning blue agate knobs!
The same mother of pearl and brass hardware that I bough at Antrhopologie years ago and have in my living room’s wet bar. Still love them. A fraction of the Anthro price!
Look at this nice selection. More Brass!
These rustic ones are also very very nice.
These acrylic and brass ones knocked it out of the park. I think I might want to change up my wet bar with these and/or use them in my laundry room. And as you can see, while I was holding on to the acrylic I had to grab this awesome white marble-like square knob!
How good would these black and white pillows with pompons be in a kids’ room or play room?
And these candles immediately reminded me of the ones Emily Henderson used to style this room.
Now, can you guess what I walked out with?
Trim, my friends, trim. I went in for TRIM! $3.00 grosgrain ribbon to make trim on Roman Shades. That was it!
Apparently, I am quite a disciplined person. Ha! Or maybe it was an attempt at practicing iskafia (self restraint/self discipline) that day!? Who knows. I try, I try…
