I’ve missed you! Thank you for all the sweet messages regarding my absence from JLP blog. Not to worry, JLP is in full force. Let me give you an update on Purim. Mishloat Manot are ready… ok, sort of. Nothing is too formal or elaborate this year around here.
¡Las he extrañado! Gracias por todos los mensajeros cariñosos, anticipando mi regreso al JLP blog. No se preocupen que JLP va de viento en popa y con planes emocionantes. Por ahora, les doy un adelanto de como vamos con Purim. Las Mishloat Manot están listas… bueno mas o menos. Nada es muy formal o elaborado este año por estos lados.My kids are doing the simple baggies that I told you about here. I also bought some Mishloat Manot baskets from my kids’ school PTO. The school sends those out to teachers and community members. It’s a nice way to support the PTO, but I still needed to make some for us to give out.
Mis hijos hicieron las bolsitas simples de las que hablé aquí. También le compre algunas canastas de Mishloat Manot a la Asosiación de Padres y Maestros del colegio de los niños, las cuales el colegio envía a los maestros y miembros de la comunidad. Es una linda manera de apoyar al colegio, pero aún tenía que hacer algunas para nosotros regalar. 
So it turns out that I taught my Ladies’ class last night, and we made these cute little Mishloat Manot, a take off on the s’mores one that I posted about here. I think they turned out adorable! And guess what my kids had for breakfast this morning!? It’s Adar, remember? (Plus, I needed a good incentive to get them in bed last night). Yes, my kids were still up when I came back from the class and they loved the boxes so I decided to make a few for us, as well. What do you think?
Resulta que anoche enseñe mi clase de mujeres e hicimos estas lindas cajitas de “smore’s” parecidas a las que puse aquí. ¡La verdad es que me parecieron lindísimas! ¿Y qué creen que desayunaron mis hijos esta mañana? ¡S’mores, yum! ¡Recuerden… es Adar! (Bueno y también necesitaba un buen incentivo para que se fueran a dormir anoche). Sí, estaban todos despiertos cuando llegué de la clase y les encantaron las cajitas así es que decidí preparar algunas para mi familia también. ¿Qué les parecen?
We talked about Hashgacha Pratis (Divine Providence) last night in relation to Megilat Esther…Maybe it is Hashgacha Pratit that I ended up making s’mores because the weather in Houston right now is certainly perfect for roasting these. I think I better go assemble more boxes!
Anoche en la clase hablamos de Hashgacha Pratis (providencia divina), en relación a la Megilat Esther… tal vez es Hashgacha Pratit que terminé haciendo “s’mores” por que el clima en Houston está perfecto para prender la fogata y hacerlos. ¡Creo que me debo de poner a hacer mas cajitas!”I do have to thank my friend Joyce for being the creative director on this one. She found inspiration in my post, ordered the boxes, and thought of how to put the whole thing together. A+ in my book. Easy, pretty, creative, kosher, and did not break the bank. If you’re still desperate for ideas, this might be an option for you. You can find the boxes here and you might just make it on time if you have Amazon Prime.
Tengo que agradecer a mi amiga Joyce por ser la directora creativa en esta ocasión. Ella encontró las cajas y se ingenio como armar todo. A+ en mi libro. Fácil, lindo, creativo, kasher y no rompió el presupuesto. Si aún están en búsqueda de ideas, esta puede ser una opción.
