B”H
This was the topic of my talk custom made for the ladies in Aventura Florida. But, really I think it was custom made for me! (I’ll tell you why in a minute) I was sent there as the first speaker of an initiative spearheaded among four Chabad houses in the area, called Project Connect. Project Connect will span over four months. This month’s event was hosted by Chabad of Aventura and I was the guest speaker. It was a morning of inspiration, connection and friendship. We had great food and lots of goodies to shop as well! The entire event was A+. I got a chance to meet so many new women and to feel the love and support of so many friends who now call Miami home and came to see me. If you have not heard the audio, head over to Jewish Latin Princess Episode 36 to hear my entire talk: Going Beyond: Living a Joyful, Richer, Jewish Life.
I will confess that I was more nervous than usual the days leading up to this engagement. You see, for me going to Aventura, FL meant speaking in front of so many women that I knew from my youth and that made me nervous. It’s easier to speak in front of people you don’t know! So while my talk was titled Going Beyond: Living a Joyful, Richer, Jewish Life, when I finished I realized that I had been the one who had actually “gone beyond” and I was so happy that I did. Every time you do something that requires you to overcome a fear, you feel like you’ve passed a threshold that won’t be there anymore; you stretched yourself to a new place. And that feels and is amazing! So, on to the next challenge.
And by the way, just as my husband said, there was no need to be nervous, because the truth is that those same friends from my youth are ladies who love me, and were there to support me and cheer me along. Here’s a secret about public speaking in general by the way: people want you to succeed. No one sits on that chair thinking, I want this person to fail. And it was truly beyond amazing to get to see all my friends from younger days and to meet so many special women. We had time at the beginning of the program and at the end to schmooze.
Not only was the environment happy and joyful. But, we had beautiful vendors exhibiting their Judaica, home goods, and jewelry. Of course there was incredible food as well!

Thank you again to Chabad of Aventura, Skylake Chabad, Lubavitch Aventura South and Chabad Chayil for this initiative and for bringing me down there. Special thanks for Chabad of Aventura’s Chani Forta for the incredible attention to detail, professionalism and the warm welcome. Huge thanks to Hindy Rosenberg of Skylake Chabad for your constant love and encouragement.
Happy Hanukkah & ¡Hasta la próxima!
