We surely need a beautiful space to put our collection of Jewish books, right? Jewish books are in and of themselves beautiful obviously, so why not choose to display them in a space that suits them.
Necesitamos un espacio hermoso en el cual exhibir nuestra colección de libros judíos, ¿cierto? Los Seforim (libros judíos sagrados) son obviamente hermosos por si mismos, así que por que no exhibirlos en un espacio que le haga justicia a la belleza que estos poseén.
According to my calendar, I was supposed to finish my bookcases by last week, because I was supposed to post about them. It didn’t happen. They have been a DIY in progress/stalled since… oy vey! I can’t tell you, let’s just say a pretty long time. Ok some of the painting part of the DIY is done, woodwork and other details…not so much… planning stages take long my friends, yes? Incomplete projects seem to be all too common around here. So since I have nothing to show for myself, but unfinished bookcases, and an embarrassing post that might push me to actually finish said bookcases, I’m going to bring you some wonderful eye candy from my library inspiration files. (More inspiration on my Pinterest, so follow me if you don’t do so yet).
Según mi calendario, estaba supuesta a haber terminado mis libreros la semana pasada, por que estaba supuesta a tomar las fotos y hacer un post sobre estos. Claro que lo que no saben es que los libreros son un DIY que lleva en trámite desde… no les puedo ni decir… muchísimo tiempo. Parte de la pintura esta hecha pero toda la parte de añadir molduras y eso… no. La etapa de planeación como que toma mucho tiempo y los proyectos incompletos parecen ser muy comunes por estos lados. Así es que como no tengo nada que enseñarles mas que un vergonzoso post sobre como no terminé los libreros – el cual en efecto me debería a empujar a terminarlos- las voy a deleitar hoy con maravillosas imagines de mis files de inspiración de bibliotecas de mi Pinterest. (Para mas inspiración, me pueden seguir aquí.)We are lucky to have a separate library in our house, but after having books hiding there for way too long, we eventually decided to display the books in the living room, and hence the DIY saga began. Now I’m really going to finish these. Anyhow, ideally one should display the Sephorim (Holy Jewish books) prominently in the home, thus showing their importance and the value the family places on Jewish wisdom. So, lets look at some pretty and prominent looking spaces, shall we?

Too bold? Wait till you see this. I don’t usually decorate with red but this goes to show that red can be done right.
¿Muy llamativos? ¡Espérense a que vean esto! Yo usualmente no decoro con rojo, pero hay veces que el rojo si se puede usar muy bien.
