7 reasons why you should launch a podcast

B”H

Ever since I launched the Jewish Latin Princess Podcast over 3 years ago, I’ve received countless questions on how to start a podcast. Fun fact: some of my podcast guests launched podcasts after they enjoyed being on my show! The amount of questions from aspiring Podcast Hosts increased even more after  IZZY-Stream Media selected me as one of the Global Jewish 100 a few months ago. Every time someone asks me,

“Should I start a podcast?”

I say,

“YES!!!”

Here’s 7 reasons why you should launch a podcast NOW! But if you want to jump to the HOW, I’ve got you covered. Download my FREE Guide to Launch Your Podcast right HERE.

1- A podcast is a great way to position yourself as an expert in your field. Whatever you field is, having another way to communicate your message is always a good thing. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You can use the same content that you’re communicating to your audience through your writing, videos, classes etc., but just adapt it to audio format. Remember, there’s an audience for everything. An audio show is another form of repurposing content and reaching an audience who appreciates audio.

2- You can easily build an audience around your passion. There are podcast about anything and everything under the sun, so don’t think that your passion or field of interest doesn’t fit the criteria. Yes, there are podcasts even on visual topics like interior design and art. You really can have a podcast about any area you’re passionate about and/or want to establish yourself as an expert (See #1).

3- It’s a great way to find your voice and fine tune your message. There really is no better way to do that than speaking about your subject. Plus, hosting a podcast will force you to keep learning more about the subject of your choice.

4- You can do it in your pijamas. I actually don’t do that. I get dressed to work even if it’s to record a podcast, but if PJ’s is your thing, you can do it!

5- You can be selling your products and services through your podcast. Yes, your podcast can become another revenue stream for your business and/or can become a revenue stream in and of itself. It is for me! In fact, it’s helped me more than double my income!

6- You can have a lot of fun doing it and expand your network. By inviting guests and/or partnering with other podcast hosts, you really get to meet wonderful people and expand your network. If you’ve been listening to JewishLatinPrincessPodcast for a while, you know that this is true!

7- Trying new things helps you find where you want to be. During my podcast episode with Cathy Heller, she shared how it’s important to “get messy” and try a few things until you find the thing that you want to focus on.  Indeed, you don’t have to know if you want to stick with podcasting forever. But, by trying it you will get out of your comfort zone and discover a great deal about yourself and about the kind of work that you want to be doing. Listen to that amazing episode HERE.

And so there you have it… As our sages say, “If not now, when?” So what are you waiting for? Oh, I know… I know…

“Ok Yael, I’d love to launch one, but really how does one do that? It seems a bit overwhelming.”

It isn’t! Especially if you go through my guide. Download your FREE Guide to Launch Your Podcast right HERE.

I loved being part of your podcast, I had no idea what to expect and it was refreshing as a Jewish woman to participate in your podcast. Your questions related to what I do, combined with Judaism gave me a lot to think about. I love getting new questions instead of the typical “why did you start the project?” which is important but I’m glad you gave it a twist. I hope your listeners enjoy the interview as much as I enjoyed being part of it! Thanks for challenging me to think about my topic and religion as one.
