Thank You all that participated. I hope to do many more of these in the future so your enthusiasm is very helpful in making that happen. And if you have leads of any great sponsors that you’d like to see in the blog, and you think would be a good fit with Jewish Latin Princess readers, feel free to reach out. And while I have you here, let me share a beautiful #mamapreneur story, given that that was the topic of the giveaway post.
Earlier this week I was driving with three of my kids while the latest Jewish Latin Princess Podcast episode with Robin Garbose was playing. (Have you listened to it? It is worth every second!) My girls were listening attentively, fascinated by this creative entrepreneur (fellow #mamapreneur). Towards the end of the interview I asked Robin, who is a mother of two, how does she juggle parenting with the demanding film production schedule and running her Performing Arts Conservatory, Kol Nechama. My 9 year old daughter, blurted out, “Mami, why do you ask that question? You have a blog, a podcast, a newspaper column and design/styling clients and you’re with us … You’re doing the same. Really Mami, that’s such a silly question!” :-)
I can’t even… If I ever doubted if my kids appreciate everything that I do and fills my days with joy (in addition to them, which obviously fill me with tremendous joy as well)… well, there went the doubts.
Obviously, I wasn’t doing all those things when I had a newborn and two toddlers. But even then, I was doing things that filled me with tremendous joy, which unbeknownst to me at the time, did lead to where I am today. There are times for everything. We don’t need to rush things, but we do need to do things. At our own pace and our own time, but do the things that make us happy mothers and wives. Ultimately we will be able to give more to our families if we’ve nourished ourselves by doing what we love.
And you can bet kids are proud of their mothers! Sure, sometimes it’s frustrating for kids to not have mommy 100%, 100% all the time. But you know what? It balances out. Whenever I travel to lead a ladies’ program or even to go teach a class, my kids welcome me with open arms, excited to hear every detail of how it went. When the newspaper comes in, they all rush to read my column. They know that they are part of my life as a #mamapreneur and they love it! (I discussed this on Episode 5 with Jael Toledo as well as Episode 6 with Debbie Berebichez – worth listening!)
And with that, I wish you all a Shabbat Shalom! And go listen to Jewish Latin Princess Podcast Episode 18 with Robin Garbose over the weekend. She is fabulous! (And yes, my girls love her movies!)
