1- Why did you start Jewish Latin Princess?
I started on this journey after two years of teaching a monthly class to Jewish Latin women in Houston, TX. Our gatherings were fun, warm, inviting and memorable and I wanted more! I wanted to access more women with a positive message about their role in Jewish life and I wanted a platform that would allow me to be more creative in conveying my message. I loved reading blogs and I felt there was a need for Jewish lifestyle to be represented in the blogsphere. So on my 38th birthday on the Hebrew calendar I published my first post and Jewish Latin Princess was born.
2- What’s with the name, Jewish Latin Princess?
Great name, right? Yes, it’s a play on an old stereotype, but I chose it carefully because it reflects so much about Jewish women, Latin or not: our relationship to G-d as His daughters, and our colorful personas which can brighten this world by making it beautiful both spiritually and physically.
One final note on the name, because it has come up before. No, I’m not a trust fund baby. Everything I have built in my life has been with tremendous work, taking leaps of faith, trusting my intuition and asking myself “is this the best I can do?” I worked my way through college, went to get my MBA on a merit scholarship, and paid off all of my student loans as soon as possible. I’ve made plenty of mistakes and had failures along the way, but I’ve never let them get me down. I eat dark chocolate and I get up again. In true princess style!
3- Are you Orthodox, Conservative, Reform?
Neither. I prefer not to use those labels in my personal life nor here in the blog. I believe every Jew has a spark of G-d and is intrinsically united with our Creator. G-d does not see labels. He sees His children – children who are always growing and improving. We made up the labels and divisions because sometimes our egos get in the way. I believe G-d wants us to be the absolute best we can possibly be and love each other while we’re at it! Our lives are a journey of constant growth through which we reveal our innate potential. There is no one destination. If you like this approach and want to join me in this journey, let’s hang out here or in person because together, focusing on what we have in common, we can achieve so so so much!

4- How did Styling and Design come about?
I’m a Stylist and Designer because I love to make things and spaces beautiful. While feeling trapped in the boring world of Corporate Finance I began selling Latin American Art as a side hustle. This slowly grew into a healthy obsession with Interior Design. Although I wasn’t pursuing anything design related before I started blogging, once I began, my readers reached out to me to help them decorate their homes and help them create beautiful parties for their families. This brings me as much joy as writing an article, blog post, or class that inspires you and pushes you to be a better you! Trust me, your family’s simcha and your home can be beautiful and reflect who YOU truly are. I do it for my clients all the time. Contact me. We’ll have fun together and you’ll be happy you did.
If you’re a Jewish woman, Latin or not, and love to explore a positive side of your Judaism – a lifestyle that is meaningful, approachable, beautiful and can allow you to truly shine, I invite you to subscribe to Jewish Latin Princess. It’s fun. It’s beautiful. It’s meaningful.
I look forward to seeing you here often!
