B”H
Boy, am I excited to show you today’s images. If you follow me on Instagram you already got a sneak peek into this incredibly fun, yet elegant Bar Mitzvah celebration. When my amazingly talented client approached me, she said that although the venue was a fancy one, she didn’t want the Bar Mitzvah party to feel stuffy. She wanted something elegant, yet fun, warm and inviting, just like her and her family! I was on a high for two days after this event, because indeed that is what we achieved: we created a Bar Mitzvah party that was elegant and fun. And to top it all, we had the best time working on this together. I can’t thank G-d enough for amazing clients!
Let’s start with the color palette… oh that color palette. Can I tell you how in love I am with this color combo. When my client first approached me, she already had the colors navy, grey and orange in mind. At first I thought, I “Orange!? Orange is a hard color to work with! It could go tacky very fast.” And then I thought, “But done right, it can work. It can really, really work!” After all, it’s a really unexpected color palette and I like unexpected… Let’s get to the eye candy, shall we?
I’m going to start with my favorite part of the entire room. Why? Well because it’s my favorite. The boys’ table! We wanted to keep this party youthful – “Bar Mitzvah boy centered”, so I decided to make a long table just for the Bar Mitzvah boy and his friends. In order to make this table stand out from the rest, I did a few things: I made it into a rectangular long table and covered it in burnt orange table cloth, accentuated with navy napkin, confetti in our color palette and large balloons with tassels all across the table.
The rest of our room was filled with round tables in navy and grey table cloths. So our Boys’ Table really stood out.
Aztec Events & Tents provided all the linens for the party. I chose their light grey chair covers for all the chairs in the room. I paired them with navy table cloths for most of the round tables, all of which had burnt orange napkins. Mibellarosa Designs did the flowers arrangements in modern milky white square vases, which added an unexpected pop. The flowers by Mibellarosa were so beautiful! We wanted flowers, but we wanted to something masculine and that would bring out the orange in the room. Mibellarosa really helped us achieve that. As you see above, I arranged for some of the navy tables to have flowers and balloons with no tassels.
But, then I also had some navy tables just with flower arrangements (no balloons). The small variations gave the room a fun and casual effect.
To break things up even more, I “sprinkled” a few round tables with light grey tablecloths among the navy tables.
As opposed to the navy tables, all of the grey tables had huge balloons with tassels, instead of flowers. The break up really added to the fun and festive feel. And I have to say that working with Ideal Party Decorators on all of the balloons in the room was such a delight!
Can we discuss those table numbers!? It’s all in the details my friends, all in the details…
These images below, give you a feel for the entire room and how it all worked together…
Navy balloons mechitzah! I told you… fun party, but ever so elegant :-)
And confetti for our Bar Mitzvah Boy! But of course!?
All of the desserts that you see in this picture above were made by my incredible friends at Dulceria Events. There’s a story behind us working together, but I’m going to save it for another time because it deserves post on its own. Let’s just say we go way way back and to recently reconnect and work together has been one of the highlights of my blogging and styling career. Not only were the desserts beautiful and everything was custom made for our party, but they were incredibly good. (Beyond good!) This was another one of those special touches that made this party! Seriously!
As you can see I kept all of the serving pieces in acrylic and or milky white, keeping it elegant and matching the rest of the party without competing with our color palette.
And did you see the acrylic letters I used to spell our bar mitzvah boy’s name!? Pretty cool, eh?
Another super fun element was this Trentino Gelato station.
Marcelo Kreindel, founder of the delicious Trentino Gelato served his Trentino mini gelato pops in raspberry, lemon and mango flavors! They were such a hit!
Instantfunpix also did a great job with a fun photo booth that everyone enjoyed. They custom made the art of the magnets with the pictures that people took home, to match the colors and design of our party. Awesome!
This was our welcome! A sign in board to match our table cards, table numbers etc. And of course this gorgeous flower arrangement by Mibellarosa Designs to greet our guests!
Little boxes custom made and filled with chocolate covered almonds by Dulceria Events to say Thank You for coming!
The sweetest Bar Mitzvah boy, happy as can be!
And there you have it, my friends, an elegant and fun Bar Mitzvah! I have great memories of working on this project and of that special night! Big Mazal Tov to the family!
So what did you think about this unexpected color palette? Would you, could you? Loving it as much as I am?
