B”H
If you remember from a few years ago, I always try to bring in some fun to our Passover table. This year, I have a surprise for the kids which I found thanks to one of my favorite ladies out in the Jewish blogosphere (and you know her already), Dena from Chai & Home. Her new Passover Fake News place mats reminded me so much of one of our favorite children’s books, Just Imagine We’re Leaving Egypt. We found this book precisely at this time last year when I took my son for a competition in NY and it quickly became a family favorite. As I was cleaning the kids’ books for Passover, (yes, cleaning books is a good idea, my dears! Little hands get all sorts of stuff stuck to books, which could be chametz) I found the book and I decided I must pull out my Passover Table Decor and let you in on what’s going to be happening over here on Seder night.
We are going to be twenty at our first seder this year, many of them elementary, middle school and high school children, and so these place matts will add a great deal of fun to our table. Take a look.
The set comes with a matza cover and with an Afikoman bag. So super cute.
I know my kids are going to love reading the creative and funny “story lines” on the fake news.
One of the things the kids (and I) love about the book Just Imagine We’re Leaving Egypt is that by making the story a modern rendition of the story of Passover – with images depicting current technology, media and communication – it helps the kids get a handle on the magnitude of what actually happened.
So, I think this Passover Fake News Set achieves a similar thing and adds comedy and fun into the wonderful night that is the Passover Seder. You can order your set here. And if you’re invited out for Seder and are in need of an original gift for your host family, this book might be just right! (I always enjoy bringing something for the kids of the host household, in addition to and/or in lieu of something for the adults, as I know it’s very much appreciated.)
And you, what fun elements will you be bringing into your Seder this year?

Hi! Are the fake news articles still Available? The link takes me to an unavailable Shopify page. Thanks!!
I would email Dena at chai and home and see if she’s still selling them. It could be that she doesn’t have them available anymore. Wishing you a kosher and happy Passover! Yael
Thank you! I will try that! Thanks so much for getting back to me:) chag sameach!

Try Dena at Chai and Home. I don’t know if she’s still making them. Good Luck and have a kosher and happy Pesach!
I’m sorry but I must be technically challenged. I don’t know what to do when you say, email Dena at chai and home. I assume there is an email address that I’m supposed to know.
Can you please be more specific?
Thank you I’m advance and have a Chag kasher v’samayach
