I’m Yael and you could say I’m a Jewish Latin Princess. (More on that name here).
I believe Jewish life is beautiful, colorful, dynamic, fun, real and livable, and I want it to be all those things for you as well! If you love this approach to Jewish life, welcome, you’re in the right place. Join me in making Jewish lifestyle a part of everything we do and love – art, design, fashion, food, and yes even business!
Throughout the years I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to empower a diverse audience of Jewish women around the world! Let me tell you a little bit about what I do…
Blogging forces me to be creating constantly with the written word and to communicate a positive message to Jewish women. Now, as a result I have my own women’s column in The Jewish Herald Voice: Defining Jewish Women, and I’m a regular contributor to The Jewish Woman.org. However, English is not my first language. Spanish is. And writing a bilingual blog is tricky! Read: I either fill my Spanish copy with horrid anglicisms or my English copy with split infinitives. You’d only know if you’re a grammar nerd like me. Anyways, if you catch any, feel free to email me, please. And if you want me to write (in Spanish or English) for your publication or company, well let’s talk.
My Kindergarten teacher sent me to therapy because I spoke too much in class. Well, the therapist never diagnosed me to be a disruptive talker in class, but said Kindergarten teacher might have been onto something because while I was pursuing my MBA, I discovered that I LOVE public speaking. Despite being a classic introvert! True. I get butterflies in my stomach every single time right before I’m up, but hey it’s so much fun! Here’s where I’ve been and here’s a list of my Talks. Contact me to come speak at your next ladies’ event. (You got it! In Spanish or English…)
Ok let’s get practical here… Do you want your simchas to be unique, fun and truly beautiful? Do you want the Jewish significance of the day to be reflected throughout your event in a stylish and tasteful way… but you have no idea how to achieve that? You want someone who has a clear vision and can execute it successfully? If you said Yes to any, or all of those, then, please check out my Portfolio here and contact me before you’re ready to throw your next big party!
I also know that you like having guests (because it’s a mitzvah and well because it’s fun) and you would love to have a home that you’re proud to invite guests into; one that you and your family are comfortable in; and that reflects who you all are! Yes? While I only take a limited amount of design clients a year, I would love to hear from you and see if I can help solve your design problems and create a home you’ll love. And no they didn’t teach me design in B-school (although G-d knows even back then I wished they had). I picked it up along the way, although there is a back story to that, part of which is here. Download my design questionnaire here and contact me here.
Now, if you’re still reading this, we should be friends and just to repay your kindness I will throw three personal facts about me and grant you permission to laugh at me if you so desire. Go ahead, I won’t even know. ;-)
1- Apparently I have some nomadic tendencies. Don’t all Jews? I was born and raised in beautiful and colorful San Juan, Puerto Rico. But, ever since I left to college at 17 years of age, I’ve lived in Boston, Chile, New York, Buenos Aires, Miami, Shanghai, Israel and now Houston, TX. I have a feeling Houston might not be my last stop, but only G-d knows.
2- I have a gringo (and amazing) husband to thank for correcting my English grammar and for putting up with me when I blurt out things in Spanish – a clear signal that I’m either very annoyed, or I’m starving. At which point the best thing he can do is feed me a good piece of steak. (I’m married in part because he fed me steak after I told him I wouldn’t marry him! Yikes! It’s a funny story. I’ll tell it to you one day.)
3- I never imagined having a large family (I’m an only child) and now I’m the proud mother of four children who I adore. Parenting has been a huge learning curve and there’s never a day that I don’t become a better person because of it. (Listen, they up my tolerance for chaos, which if it weren’t for them, would be zero, so that has to count, right?)
Feel free to contact me at any time with any issue like:
“I need a dynamic and inspiring speaker for my next ladies’ event.”
“I want a stunning party but have no idea how to do it!”
“I want a home that is beautiful and reflects who we are.”
And if you like me already, I know you’ll love what I have to say. Let get to know each other inside my blog!
Thank you for being here. I’ll see you inside!
