Episode 35: Faigy Pollock, Expert on Marriage and Intimacy

It’s December already, wow! I’m in Miami this week re-connecting with old friends… friends who I haven’t seen in years and physically connecting with many of my newer virtual friends, who I’ve made through this platform the blog and the podcast, Jewish Latin Princess. I’m down there for a speaking engagement so I will also get to meet new women. Always so fun. Today, I bring you a woman whom I feel so blessed to have connected with. I say that about all my guests and I mean it. But today’s guest is in a field that is of primary importance to Jewish women and not a field that is navigated by many and certainly not in the way that she’s doing it. I have Faigy Pollock on the show. Faigy is a renowned kallah teacher (a teacher of Jewish brides), an EFT Practitioner and the creator of the online course on marriage and intimacy Unblock Your Way to Oneness.

This is one of those interviews where I feel I can just drop the mic right there because my guest said everything that I would have said but a million times better. You think you’re talking to Faigy about intimacy yet, you end up learning about fundamental Jewish concepts – unfortunately many which through the ages and by virtue of the influences of the societies’ we’ve lived in as Jews, we’ve misconstrued. Faigy brings clarity in a very confused world.

So, what is the Torah’s perspective on intimacy? What are common stumbling blocks that women face in the area of intimacy? Shouldn’t this be natural? How come it’s not easy and what do we do about that? You say, “My marriage works just fine, I’m not just so into intimacy. It’s not my thing.” Why is that a dangerous attitude? What’s at the core of these statements and why should we look to resolve this? Mothers, how do we teach our kids in a way that they are comfortable with their own sexuality?
